Local Outreach

Hope in Action provides meals and groceries to help those in need in Winchester, Frederick County, and surrounding areas.  Our 2023 goal is to help 1000 local families.

We host Festival of Hope gatherings which are large, fun, family events for local communities that offer support for those who are in need and present the HOPE that comes from Jesus Christ.

Global Impact

Hope in Action partners with Feed the Hungry to feed over 100 children every day in the most at-risk areas of the world.  Our global impact affects more than a child's nutrition. It also provides access to an education and allows the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be shared.

Our Leadership

Christopher Sakai, President

Christopher began in full-time ministry in the inner-city of Baltimore where he served for over 10 years. He conducted a number of open air outreaches dedicated to meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of people.

He is dedicated to reaching people who have never heard the gospel, taking care of the “widow and orphan”, and supporting the local church.

Our STory

Hope in Action was born from the belief that each of us must respond to the needs of those around us with love and hope. We provide food to the hungry, both locally and around the world, sharing the hope that comes from God through Jesus Christ.

Our goal is to be a consistent and active part of our local and global community through hands-on ministry. When we go into a neighborhood, we bring boxes of groceries to distribute to those in need and take time to share a hot meal with them and provide words of encouragement to fuel their hope for the future.

In addition to feeding our local community, we also provide over 100 hot meals a day to hungry children around the world with the help of our partner organization.

Helping the whole person means more than just making sure their physical needs are met. That is why we also host Festival of Hope in local communities. We currently reach is Winchester City and Frederick County, VA. Festival of Hope is a fun, family-friendly, community event where people can enjoy a meal together, have a great time, receive material help, and hear the Gospel message. They leave with a sense of hope, knowing there is a God who loves them.

We also conduct smaller “sidewalk” events where we serve a free lunch, give away grocery boxes, and spend time talking and praying with the community.
